MY STORY
Nick Venner is a Greek – Austrian, born in 1994 in Athens, Greece. His musical talent was evident from a very young age where he began his piano studies at the Greek National Conservatoire in Athens.
He holds a Soloist Diploma in Piano (First Prize & Highest Distinction) from the J. Sygkelaki Conservatory, in Athens.
He is a graduate of the American College of Greece – Deree (ACG) with degrees in Bachelor ofArts (Honors) and BA (Honors) in Music Performance from the Open University in United Kingdom.
During his undergraduate studies at the American College of Greece he studied piano under the personal guidance of the renowned and internationally acclaimed pianist, educator and music director Mr. Dimitri Toufexis.
During his studies he was awarded the prestigious music scholarship of the Frances L. Rich School of Fine and Performing Arts as well as the Outstanding Senior Achievement Award for his artistic activity and performance.
Nick completed his postgraduate studies (M.Mus.) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RoyalScottish Academy of Music and Drama), under the acclaimed professors Aaron Shorr and Fali Pavri. During his studies at RCS he was awarded the prestigious scholarship of the A. G. Leventis Foundation.
He has actively participated in a number of piano masterclasses in Greece and abroad with eminent and distinguished pianists and professors, such as Dimitri Toufexis, Aquiles delle Vigne, Steven Osborne, Daniel Blumenthal, Raquel Boldorini, Lilia Boyadjieva, Michele Rossetti, Rafael Salinas, Borislava Taneva, Alexander Vassilenko, Olga Kern.
As a soloist he has participated in various national and international competitions and he has received multiple awards and distinctions
In Greece, he has been awarded the 3rd prize in the Greek National Piano Competition in 2013, as well as in 2016 and the 2nd prize in the Greek National UNESCO Competition, in 2018.
In 2022 he was awarded the honorary and prestigious Fine Arts prize for artistic excellence established by the Athens Academy, in Greece.
Some of the international prizes he has been awarded are the 2nd prize at the V Encontro Internacional de Piano de Sardoal, Portugal in 2020, the 2nd prize at the International Piano Competition (ISCART) in Lugano, Switzerland in 2021, as well as the 2nd prize at the International Moscow Music – Piano Competition (IMMC), in September 2021.
As a piano soloist, he has actively participated in recitals in various venues and concert halls suchas the Athens Concert Hall, the Alternative Stage of the Greek National Opera, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria, Kasteel d’ Ursel, in Brussels and in Bologna, Italy.
Additionally, he was invited to perform in the 14th Rhodes International Piano Forum & Musi Festival in Greece.
Furthermore, he has extensively performed around United Kingdom and Ireland, participating in solo recitals in Chester, Frinton, Colchester, and Dublin.
Recently, he was awarded the prestigious Diplome Superieur in piano performance of the Academy Schola Cantorum in Paris, France under the guidance of the world-renowned professor and pianist Ms. Agathe Leimoni.
